Who shows up

Meet Jesse Turnlund

Jesse is an Idaho state licensed master electrician and the owner of Mountain City Electric. Born and raised in Idaho, he does the work himself — the same man who quotes your job is the one standing in your panel.

Call the number on the van and you get Jesse or Courtney. No call center, no dispatcher three states away, no rotating crew of subs. Just a straight answer about what your electrical needs, what it will cost, and when it can happen.

What Integrity, Quality and Experience actually mean

Plenty of shops print words like these on a truck. Here is what they mean when Jesse pulls into your driveway.

  • Integrity — the price quoted is the price billed, period. You get a number before the work starts, and that is the number on the invoice. No creative math at the end, no line items that showed up while you weren't looking, no "while we were in there" surprises. If something genuinely changes the scope, you hear about it before it gets done, not after.
  • Quality — your vision, wired to do the job right. Jesse listens first. He wants to know what you're actually trying to accomplish — the shop you're finishing, the panel that keeps tripping, the lighting you've pictured in that kitchen — and then he builds a plan around your needs, not a package he'd rather sell. Nothing starts until you've seen that plan and approved it. What gets installed is safe, reliable, and built to the latest code.
  • Experience — an Idaho master electrician, on your job. Jesse holds an Idaho state master electrician license, and he's the one doing the work. That means the problem gets diagnosed correctly the first time, the odd stuff other people wired wrong gets caught, and permits get pulled instead of skipped. Quality workmanship at honest prices is the whole business model, not a slogan.

The van you'll see

You call, Jesse shows up

Mountain City Electric is 100% Idaho owned and family operated. That's not a marketing line — it's who answers when the phone rings.

Courtney handles the phone and knows the work well enough to be useful on the first call. One customer rang about a washer problem and Courtney talked her through a temporary fix before Jesse ever got there. That's the kind of outfit this is.

Jesse is born and raised in Idaho, and he works out of Tensed across the Palouse and North Central Idaho — Moscow, Deary, Potlatch, Plummer, Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston and the country in between. Farms, shops, houses, restaurants. If you've got power going to it, he's probably worked on one.

You'll deal with the same two people from the first call to the final invoice. Nobody hands your job down a chain.

The paperwork

Licensed & insured

Electrical is one of the few trades where cutting a corner can burn a house down. This is the part nobody should have to take on faith.

  • Idaho Electrical Contractor License #038428 An active Idaho electrical contractor license, held by Jesse as a state licensed master electrician. It's a public record — you can look the number up with the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses and confirm it yourself before anyone touches your wiring.
  • Insured for the work we do Mountain City Electric carries insurance on its installations. Ask and you'll get proof of coverage — that goes for homeowners, general contractors and commercial property managers alike.
  • Installed to the latest codes Work is done to the National Electrical Code plus applicable Idaho state and county requirements. New installs get built to current code, not to whatever was acceptable the year the house went up.
  • Permits pulled, never skipped When a job requires a permit, that permit gets pulled and the work gets inspected. Skipping it is cheaper today and expensive the day you sell, file a claim, or have an inspector open the panel. It isn't worth it, so it doesn't happen here.
  • Free estimates, residential and commercial Estimates cost nothing. You get a real number and a plan you've approved before the first wire is pulled.

What neighbors say about Jesse

This team went above and beyond! I called partly because of a problem with my washer. Courtney was able to recommend a temporary fix over the phone. Jesse not only fixed the problem, but showed me where my house had been wired incorrectly and fixed that as well. They were both professional and sympathetic. Very impressed!

I hired Jesse to fix a hand full of issues at my house just before selling it. He was punctual, professional, fast, and affordable. He's also an all around great human being. I highly recommend Mountain City Electric.
