Mountain City Electric LLC is a small, Idaho owned and family operated electrical contractor. This website exists to tell you what we do and to make it easy to reach us — that is all it is for. This page explains, in plain English, exactly what information the site collects and what happens to it.

The short version: this site sets no cookies, runs no analytics and carries no advertising or tracking pixels. The only information we ever get from it is what you type into our estimate form and send us on purpose.

The only information this site collects

There is exactly one place on this website that collects anything about you: the free estimate and contact form. Here is everything it asks for.

• Name — required, so we know who we are talking to.
• Phone number — required, because a phone call is usually the fastest way to sort out an electrical question.
• Email address — optional, in case you would rather we write back than call.
• City or town — optional, so we know where the job is.
• Message — optional. Free text: whatever you want to tell us about the work.

That is the entire list. We never ask for your date of birth, your Social Security number, or any banking, card or other financial information, and we would rather you did not type anything like that into the message box. If you would rather not use the form at all, just call 208-987-0013 and talk to us instead.

The form also carries one hidden field that you never see and that only automated spam bots fill in. It is there to catch junk submissions. It collects nothing about you, and there is no CAPTCHA to solve.

What this site does not do

A lot of privacy policies get vague right about here. We would rather be specific.

• No cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser.
• No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, and no other analytics, session-recording or heat-mapping tool anywhere on this site. We genuinely do not know which pages you read or how long you stayed.
• No advertising or tracking pixels. No ad pixels, no retargeting tags, no social media trackers. Reading this page will not start following you around the internet.
• No accounts or logins. There is nothing to sign up for and no password to create.
• No payments through the website. We do not take card numbers or any other payment here.
• No mailing list. There is no newsletter, so contacting us cannot add you to one.
• No selling your information. We do not sell, rent, trade or hand over your personal information for marketing — not to anyone, not at any price.

How your form submission reaches us

The estimate form is delivered by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a third-party form service. When you press submit, FormSubmit receives what you typed and forwards it to our business email address, which is a Gmail account provided by Google. So your message passes through FormSubmit's systems and is then stored in Google's email systems, and each of those companies handles it under its own privacy and security practices.

We use FormSubmit for exactly one purpose: getting your message off this page and into our inbox so Jesse or Courtney can get back to you. We do not use it to build lists or to track you afterward.

Fonts and other outside requests

The type on this site is loaded from Google Fonts, so when a page opens, your browser asks Google's font servers for the font files. Those servers see your IP address as part of delivering the fonts. Google states that Google Fonts sets no cookies and that these requests are not used for advertising. Apart from Google Fonts — and FormSubmit at the moment you actually submit the form — nothing on these pages reaches out to a third party.

Hosting and server logs

Like nearly every website, the hosting and content delivery network that serve these pages may automatically record standard technical information with each request: an IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, and the date and time. That happens at the hosting layer, and it is used to deliver the site and keep it secure and online. We do not use those logs to identify you or to build a profile of you.

What we use your information for

If you send us your details, we use them to:

• Answer your question, get you a free estimate, or schedule the work.
• Follow up about a job we quoted or finished for you.
• Keep the ordinary business records a licensed contractor keeps — quotes, job notes, invoices.

That is all. We do not use your information for anything you did not contact us about.

Who else sees it

What you send goes to Jesse and Courtney and stays with the job. Beyond the form and email providers described above, we share it only when there is a real reason to: when finishing your work genuinely requires it — filing a permit or scheduling an inspection, for instance — or when Idaho or federal law, or a valid legal request, obligates us. That is the whole list of exceptions.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send only as long as it is useful — long enough to answer you, do the work, and hold the normal business and tax records expected of a licensed Idaho electrical contractor. Messages that never turn into a job get cleared out of the inbox once they have served their purpose.

Your choices

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 208-987-0013 or email mountaincityelectric@gmail.com, tell us what you want done, and we will take care of it — apart from anything we are legally required to hold on to. There is nothing to unsubscribe from, because we do not send marketing email.

Children

This site is for people who need an electrician. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent us something through this site, call or email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change how this site handles information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. Since the site collects almost nothing to begin with, we do not expect that to happen often.
